YOUTH
PROGRAMS
After
School Enrichment Program: Children in the 1st-6th grades
receive tutoring, academic and homework assistance. Enrichment
activities are offered in art, music, dance, drama, computers,
crafts, recreation and more. The program meets Monday - Friday,
from 2:30-5:30pm. The program fee is $25 per month.
Wyman
Park Tutorial Project:
Offers tutoring to children and youth in 1st-12th grade. Need
to brush up and improve on reading, writing and arithmetic? Elaine
Shugarman and her dedicated staff have a proven formula for success.
Program meets Monday - Thursday from 4:30-5:30pm. Advance registration
required. Free.
YouthLight
Photography Project:
Participants age 11-14 learn about the art of photography. The
youth use cameras as means of artistic expression, develop their
own prints in a darkroom and have opportunities for gallery presentation.
YouthLight is an educational, artistic and enjoyable experience
led by Marshall Clarke and his staff. Meets Wednesdays from 3:00-6:00pm.
Registration required. Free.
Girl
Scouts: Girl Scouts is the largest organization in the world
committed to girls. In small groups with adult leadership, the
program has four basic goals to help each girl develop her
full potential, to relate to others with increasing understanding,
skill and respect, to develop values and to contribute to the
betterment of her community. Girl Scouts meet every other Monday
evening from 6:00-7:00pm, beginning Monday, October 1st. $10 annual
membership fee.
Study
Buddy/Hopkins Helpers:
One-on-one tutoring for elementary and middle school students,
sponsored by the Johns Hopkins University Center for Social Concern.
Program meets on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00-7:00pm. Study
Buddy begins Monday, October 1st. Advance registration required.
$25 fee for Fall Session (ends when schools break for Christmas
holiday). After-School Program participants are eligible to participate
at no cost.
TEEN
PROGRAMS
Teen
Leadership, Education and Development Programs: At HFC, were
serious about giving teens the tools they need to succeed. Join
our Apprenticeship Program, where teens learn about the field
of Youth Development. Apprentices work in our after-school programs,
gain valuable experience and prepare themselves for careers helping
others. Successful apprentices are guaranteed summer employment
placement. Call to schedule your interview. Only leaders interested
in helping others need apply.

Sound Studio: Create, record and produce your own original
